Why having General Liability Insurance is Important

General Liability Insurance is one of the most fundamental types of coverage for any business. It protects against third-party claims involving bodily injury, property damage, or personal and advertising injury that occur on your premises or as a result of your business operations. For example, if a customer slips and falls in your store or if your employee accidentally damages a client’s property, this policy would typically cover legal fees, medical costs, and settlement expenses.

General Liability insurance is particularly important because lawsuits can be financially devastating. Even if a claim is found to be baseless, legal defense costs alone can be significant. General Liability insurance offers peace of mind and financial protection, allowing business owners to focus on growth rather than litigation risks.

Many contracts and leases require proof of General Liability insurance. It can also cover reputational damage, such as claims of slander or copyright infringement in advertisements. However, it does not cover professional errors, auto accidents, or employee injuries—those are covered under separate policies like Professional Liability, Commercial Auto, or Workers’ Compensation.

There is no cost or obligation to see if we can improve your coverage, reduce your risk and save you money!
